Our Process
Your goal is to hire a construction company that can deliver what you want. Our goal is to be involved only if we can exceed your expectations. To ensure a match and to work smoothly following engagement, we follow a process which is tailored to your specific requirements and objectives. The general outline of this process follows below.
1. Review and evaluate your project goals and vision to determine if there is a match with our capabilities and expertise.
-Complete the questionnaire located in the Schedule An Appointment tab.
-Telephone discussion.
-Meeting in person if appropriate.
2. Discuss preliminary design, client preferences, and budget goals.
-With many years of experience in all aspects and phases of residential
construction, we usually can suggest a number of cost effective alternatives to
achieve your design, construction, and budget aspirations.
3. Contract.
-When your design, material and schedule objectives have been finalized, we
will provide you with a written contract. It will outline the scope of service,
materials, subcontractor selections (eg. plumber and electrician), start and
completion dates, final price and payment schedule, and other terms that
will guide our process and ongoing collaboration during construction.
-We don’t believe in surprises. We minimize them by disclosing as much
as possible in writing prior to commencing any work on your property.
-We have never had a contentious or acrimonious dispute with any customer
or vendor. We attribute this to thorough contracting on the front end and
open, timely communication throughout the entire project process.
4. Construction.
-We are a full service and flexible construction company. This means that
we can handle all phases of your project or limit our involvement to
individual components selected by you.
For example, some clients want us to complete all aspects, including design,
permitting, subcontractor management, sourcing/ordering materials,
rough framing, sheetrock, custom carpentry, tiling, and painting. Some
clients prefer to handle individual parts of a project without our involvement,
such as contracting directly with the plumber or painter or purchasing tile
and electrical fixtures from preferred sources. We are flexible and can
usually suggest and accommodate alternatives.
-We are a “hands on” construction company. Tim Connolly is on site every
day and available for daily client review if desired.
-We honor our agreements. At the end of the job, the project is reviewed on
site with the client to ensure all work has been completed as agreed.
5. Post Construction.
-All our work is warranted for one year. Details are set forth in the contract.
-We hope you’ll stay in touch. We’ll call you thirty days after project
completion to check if adjustments are needed. We’ll check in again
ten months later. We welcome your feedback and will stay in touch
periodically to discuss your evaluation of our performance.
